Crystal Skulls are models of a human skull.  They are most often carved out of crystal.  There are also Chinese Jade Skulls, naturally made from jade.  More than an interesting piece of art, the ancient skulls can be traced back to ancient Mesoamerican cultures, including Maya.  The skulls are also more than symbolic artifacts of an ancient civilization.  They are associated with ancient prophecies, that have come of age. 

For example, most, if not all, religions and spiritual belief systems have predicted an end to our current world or civilization - as in Christianity, the second coming of Christ.  The Mayan Long Calendar prophecy indicates that this end will occur on December 21, 2012, according to some sources.  This date, or in proximity of this date, resonates with many modern day religious organizations.

Many crystal skulls are created using sacred geometry which is a complex system of religious symbols and structures involving space, time and form.  Thus the crystal skulls are believed to weild much power.  In metophysic realms they are used as instruments of healing and of enhancing psychic abilities.  They are used to increase one’s awareness and understanding of human creation and evolution.  The why’s and how’s of the universe, if you will.
